Fast-a-Thon
Sooo hungry…they pray for at least one more meal…
Sooo cold…they pray for a place to spend one more night…
Sooo sick…they pray they survive one more day…
Sooo eager to learn…they pray they find a piece of newspaper to look at a few letters…
Many around the world suffer everyday from lack of food, shelter, health care, education and more. A lot of them are orphaned children who have no one to care for them.
These orphans need us. They need our generous donations. They need our help and support.
The MSA is holding its annual event of Ramadan, Fast-a-thon, where we ask staff and students of UTSC to donate minimum $5 and fast for the day. We then, invite them all to break their fast with us at sunset with FREE dinner.
Please come join those fasting in the month of Ramadan in an event aimed at creating a first-hand experience of what it means to go hungry: for we are only motivated to bring a change we want if we have gone through the sufferings of what the rest have.
Donations will be accepted throughout Thursday, September 17th at the Student Centre until sunset. Fast-a-thon stickers will be issued for those who donate.
Dinner will be served to participants at 7:30pm.
