Ramadaan Mubarak everyone! In light of Final exams starting at 2:00 PM on Fridays, the MSA has decided to begin Jumu’aa (Friday Congregational Prayer) at 1:15 PM and end it at 1:45 PM for the rest of the summer. Please do not come late.

A special segment for sisters by our female scholars, to address regulations of fasting and zakah, specific to women. The Leadership Excellence Program

The Leadership Excellence Program (and scholarship)

Offered by: The Leadership for Success Institute http://leadership4success.org

Basic information:

- We provide leadership development and coaching from an Islamic perspective. While anyone can benefit from our leadership workshops, they will be specific to Muslim students.

- The leadership workshops offered to the (UTSC) MSA this year (2010/2011) will consist of six sessions. At the end of the program participants will be eligible for the LSI Scholarships for Leadership and Excellence (one $1500 scholarship, one $1000 scholarship and three $500 scholarships)

- After completing the program participants will receive a personalized certificate of completion.

-The sessions will be held weekly starting Sunday May 22 to Sunday June 26.

-The program will accept twenty participants from UTSC.

-Most of the training sessions will be full day (11AM-4PM) but some may be half day.

-Lunch and coffee/tea will be provided.

-Participants will be required to attend all of the sessions except where valid reason is provided.

-Participants will have to pay a registration fee of $20 to cover training materials (LSI training workbook).

To complete the training, participants will be asked to:

• attend all the sessions (except where valid reason is provided)

• be punctual

• provide one reference letter for volunteer work

• participate actively during the sessions

• present in the final session for 10 minutes (small inspirational presentation)

No Jumu’ah May 06, 2011

Salamualaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu,

I pray everyone did well on their exams and is benefiting from the blessing of time we will be given this summer inshAllah. I would like to remind everyone that there
will be no Jumu’a (Friday Congregational Prayer) on campus scheduled this Friday May 06, 2011 since there are no classes scheduled. All subsequent Jumu’ah Prayers will occur regularly at 1:30PM in the Student Centre Prayer Room (SL-281 and SL-279) for the rest of the summer semester inshAllah.
